Lelouch Lamperouge, Vice President of the Student Council of Ashford Academy, a popular ladies guy and an absolute genius at chess. That is barely touching the surface of Lelouch's character. In actual fact, he is the eleventh prince and seventeenth inline for the throne of Britannia. At the age of 9 or so, his mother, Empress Marianne, was assassinated and his sister, Nunnally, crippled. He criticized his father for not at least seeing Nunnally in hospital. For this he was sent to Japan as a hostage. He escaped that when Japan fell to Britannia, and he faked his death, everyone believing Marianne's children were dead. He now attends Ashford Academy because the Ashford family intends to use him and his sister, Nunnally. He believes it is inevitable that he and his sister will be used as political tools for other peoples' gain. Lelouch has a particular hate for Britannia and especially its emperor, his father. The corruption within it and it's policies of discrimination disgust him. He hates the way the world revolves, and wants to change it for the sake of his sister. When he meets C.C. and receives the power of Geass, he decides to completely manipulate the power to create the world he and his sister can live in, and to find the murderer of his mother. With C.C. as his accomplice, he takes the alias "Zero" and hides his face from the world. He manipulates the people who share his hate for Britannia, and establishes the terrorist group, the Order of the Black Knights. He first gains popularity with the Order, labeling themselves as the saviors of the weak, and bringing down the powerful. They become extremely popular in the Ghettos, and receive the support of a large Eleven corporation 'Kyoto'. The Order continues to grow, gaining more recruits, more power and more support. Spoilers Start However, it's not all that easy for Lelouch. Along this path, Lelouch commits terrible sins that hurt the ones he cares about. He is the indirect cause of Shirley's father's death, and here is where the guilt first hits him. When he discovers that Suzaku is the one piloting Lancelot, Lelouch becomes shocked that the Knightmare Frame that continues to disrupt his plans, is piloted by his best friend. The biggest sin Lelouch commits, is causing his half-sister Euphemia to fall under the influence of Geass, and massacring hundreds, possible thousands of Japanese people. Lelouch causes Euphemia's dream to collapse, and causes her to do one of the things she despises most. With great pain, he shoots her, ending her life. Lelouch carries all these sins on his shoulders, the blood of countless people are stained on him. Nonetheless, he continues, trying to make himself devoid and obsolete to emotion and guilt, as to ensure they don't weigh him down on his road of carnage. Nothing will stop Lelouch from creating the world he wants Nunnally to live in, or to find his mother's murderer.
