Lloyd first appears as an eccentric, quirky man with a love for technology. This is not too far off. A scientist and engineer, he works in a Special Envoy of the Military. He is the developer of Lancelot, and he is the one who requested Suzaku to operate it. He develops many add-ons to the Lancelot, which he insists on using despite safety issues and incompletion. The thought of testing his inventions completely blocks out any thought of danger towards the pilot. Luckily, Suzaku's skills always brings him back alive, allowing Lloyd to continue adjusting his work. Because of his quirky, eccentric intelligence, he is usually oblivious to other people's feelings, and often makes rude comments. Cecil is the one who trys to keep him inline, Minor Spoilers ahead. Despite his odd personality, he is of Britannian nobility of high status. He ranks as an Earl, which is the equivalent to a Count. Through this, he has become engaged to Milly Ashford. Few people understand and tolerate him. One would be Cecil, and another two would be Suzaku and Schneizel, whom he probably knows from his Earl status. He currently has some sort of rivalry with Laksharta. Previously, it's seen that he, Cecil and Laksharta were probably friends and co-workers. Although is seems that he doesn't care about Suzaku at all, he has developed his own kind of appreciation towards him. He respects Suzaku as an essential 'part' for Lancelot, or perhaps he is just new or embarrassed about caring for another person.
