Suzaku is the only son of the previous Japanese Prime Minister Kururugi Genbu. He met and befriended Lelouch and Nunnally when they were children, and is one of the only people who know their identities and Britannian Royalty.

After the invasion of Japan and death of his father, it's not really known what Suzaku did, only that he was separated from Lelouch and Nunnally. However, he eventually decided to become an Honorary Britannian Citizen and joined the army, hoping to turn Britannia into a better country from the inside.

He eventually becomes part of the Military's Research Department, piloting Lancelot and testing any of Lloyd's new devices. With such incredible piloting skills, Suzaku has been asked to fight in many battles.

Suzaku is a very kind person who dislikes to see people hurt, and especially death, war and terrorism. He completely despises Zero, and even though the two have the same goal of correcting the corrupt Britannia, he will not support anyone who does this by 'the wrong means'.

When Suzaku is confronted by Mao in episode 16, Mao reveals that it was Suzaku who killed his father. Suzaku tried to convince his father to surrender, but he had instead decided for a 'do-or-die' resistance for Japan. Suzaku stabbed him, resulting in his father's death. This was covered up, and with the Japanese Government leaderless and confused, they surrendered. If the war had continued like his father had planned it, Europe and China would probably have intervened, leaving Japan embroiled in war. However, in "Stage 0 - Entrance", a novel of Code Geass (I'm not sure if it's official, but anyway...) it states that Suzaku killed his father to save Lelouch and Nunnally.

Suzaku has had a close relationship with Euphemia ever since they met. The two share similar ideals, and it arguable, but it's implied that the two fall in love. When Euphemia is shot by Zero and is on her death bed, Suzaku is with her to her end. He is later visited by V.V, who probably explains everything about Geass and that Zero had used it on her. He calls Lelouch, and tells him to pass the word to everyone else; don't look at the sky, because he will be fighting for his hate of Zero, and will be fighting to murder him.

Childhood and Past

Suzaku was Lelouch's first friend. However, it didn't start off that way. At first he was very rude and proud. When he first met Lelouch, they got into a fight, and he only stopped beating him after he heard Nunnally.

He never mentions his mother, and she is assumed dead. Suzaku had a fair relationship with his father, a relationship of pride and respect. He learned Kendo (I believe...) when he was a child, with Toudoh as his instructor, and has equal respect for him.

His father was going to marry Nunnally for political reasons, and when Suzaku heard this, he volunteered himself instead of his father. However, Suzaku was already engaged to someone of the Sumeragi (Kaguya's family), also for diplomatic reasons.

Suzaku's reason for killing his father was to stop the war. Although, it has been said he killed his father to save Nunnally and Lelouch.
