Stage 11, The Narita Battle

The Britannians have been hit hard, with only 20% of their ranks still functional.

Meanwhile, the Purists faction is in trouble, Curel has been killed. Not only them, but also the Order is also suffering fatalities, not as bad as Britannia, but some of their troops get injured and possible die.

The Japanese Liberation Front reinforcements have arrived, the famed Toudou and his comrades launch their grasshopper looking Knightmares and attack Cornelia and her troops from behind. Cornelia is retreating while her knight, Guilford takes on Toudou.

Britannia's situation is looking grim, and Euphemia is at a loss. In their most desperate time, Lloyd sends a video transmission asking for permission to send Suzaku out. The Britannian advisors scoff, they say one machine wouldn't be able to do anything, and Suzaku is just a number anyway. Suzaku mouths "Euphie" to her, and she agrees to send him out.

Meanwhile, Viletta is giving Guilford a report, she predicts Zero will move to the place where Cornelia went to try and lure the Japanese Front. Cornelia is standing face to face with Kallen's Guren.

Before Lancelot launches, Lloyd asks Suzaku why he's in the army if he doesn't want people to die. Suzaku replies,

"I'm in the army so that they won't die"

- Suzaku

Lancelot launches at top speed, with his mountain type road board.

Zero arrives in the middle of Kallen's and Cornelia's battle. Cornelia is surrounded; the only way she can escape is if she beats the Guren. She shoots at it, but the Guren easily dodges. Cornelia cannot match the Guren and its radiation blast, and Zero shooting from her behind leaves her Knightmare crippled.

General Darlton and the rest of Cornelia's planned reinforcements are still being attacked. Guilford and a few other Britannian soldiers are on the defensive, as the Japanese Liberation Front attack at them relentlessly.

Cornelia sends Guilford a transmission, telling him and Darlton to aid Euphie, and she won't surrender.

"I will fight to the end as an imperial princess!"

- Cornelia

Lancelot bursts into the battlefield, standing in front of Cornelia's Knightmare.

Zero orders Kallen to destroy Lancelot. She charges at Lancelot with her Radiation wave, she pulls off a piece of his armour and it explodes. Cornelia shouts at Suzaku to handle the Guren, while she'll take on Zero.

Guren and Lancelot engage in a fierce duel. They're about evenly matched, each one dodging the other's attacks. Lancelot charges with his sword, which Guren grabs and destroys. He fires at her and Kallen 'catches', or blocks the shot, but at the edge of a cliff, it falters and sends the Guren crashing down. Ohgi and the others check to see if Kallen and the Guren are all right, but the Guren's arm has been damaged and will need repairing. With the Lancelot still functioning and the Guren down, Lelouch orders the retreat.

Lancelot rushes to the armless Cornelia, but she orders him to go after Zero, she can't because her energy filler is low.

Lelouch is on the run, and Lancelot easily shoots him down. Lelouch takes his mask and gets out of his Knightmare; he's at a loss, and about to be captured. To both Suzaku's and Lelouch's surprise, C.C comes into the picture. Suzaku remembers her as the woman from the capsule and is shocked to see her as Zero's ally. She walks up to Lancelot and touches it, and the sign on her forehead starts glowing.

Inside the Lancelot, Suzaku falls into a trance like state. He sees images, some of things that he has never seen before, others that he recognises. He sees his father, and is scared and shocked.

Outside his Knightmare, C.C explains to Lelouch that she's showing some shocking images to him. She tells him that she can't move, but he should escape. Lelouch walks over and touches her on the shoulder. He falls into, possible C.C's past. He sees people rioting against what looks like a church bearing the Geass sign. He sees a nun with the same mark as C.C on her forehead, and then C.C bathing in water, with a scar under her left breast. C.C is in pain, and is even crying.

Meanwhile, Suzaku is still in his trance. He sees images of Lelouch's mother and his father, and shouts "I had no choice but to do it!"

Lelouch now sees Suzaku, and they see perhaps the same thing. They see tired faceless figures dragging their feet, they see explosions and they hear screams.

Suzaku goes berserk, and starts shooting around him. C.C steps in front of Zero, as pieces of rock fly everywhere. She screams at him to escape, while more rocks pound at her.

Cornelia tells Guilford to tell the army to retreat, there's no more reason to risk the lives of their officers and soldiers.

"I have no choice but to accept it... We have lost this time."

- Cornelia

The Order of the Black Knight members are safe and they celebrate their victory. Kallen however, is wondering where Zero is.

Lelouch has taken C.C to a cave some place in the mountain, he deducts that she's really not human; the rate that she recovers is abnormal. However, her vital signs are like a human's. C.C mumbles something, and Lelouch moves closer to hear her say it.

Cornelia is in their base, and is talking to Guilford. She asks how Kururugi is, and Guilford replies that they've retrieved him, but it took time because they waited for the Energy Filler to be used up so the machine would stop. Cornelia asks why they waited, and Guilford replies that it was going berserk.

C.C tells Lelouch that there's no need to rescue her as she doesn't need any help recovering, and he lets his foolish pride get in the way of things. Lelouch counters that he knows something interesting and sneers. He says her name (which we can't hear...) and tells her that it's a better name then C.C. She gets emotional, and starts crying. She has forgotten everything, and names won't mean anything. Lelouch tells her, that for saving him, and for giving for Geass, for everything, "Thank you".

C.C is shocked and happy; it's the first time she's been thanked. She requests for him to say her name, with care and warmth from his heart. He agrees, and says it (we can't hear it again...). He asks how it was, and C.C tells him it was no good, no kindness, no sincerity, without warmth and weird pronunciation. He smiles at her, calling her a selfish woman. She replies,

"Of course. That's because I'm C.C"

- C.C

In the town at the foot of the mountain, some of the researchers related to C.C and her capsule, find a disoriented Jeremiah, mumbling that he's not Orange. He collapses in front of their truck.

Kallen arrives outside the cave and anxiously asks if he's all right, she then sees C.C and changes her voice to a hateful tone, asking who she is. Zero tells her not to worry as C.C is an important comrade. He turns to C.C and tells her, he doesn't know why the snow is white, but the snow is pretty, and he doesn't hate it.

Rating: 4/5

Comments: Interesting episode, a sneak peek of C.C's past and power, Kallen and the Guren in proper action. Her fight with Lancelot was awesome. Orange is funny ^___^ - emily
