Stage 20, Kyūshū Combat



The episode starts off at Fukuoka Base in the Kyushu district. A former official, Sawasaki Atushi leads the rebels, wanting to revive Japan's independence. The Order of the Black Knights watch in slight confusion, with Zero unsure with what to do.

Cecil and Lloyd fly in Avalon, watching the news broadcast. Lloyd asks Cecil how Suzaku feels about it, he replies that he will fight if Lloyd asks.

Suzaku is sitting down, going to a flashback, where he gives up his duty of a Knight and tells Euphemia that he killed his father, talking about how selfish he was.

Meanwhile, Cornelia is with Guilford, fighting of the Japanese. It's raining heavily, which is advantageous for the Japanese and the Chinese who have allied themselves with.

Schneizel is talking about battle plans with General Darlton and some other men. Euphemia comes in, asking if she can do anything (of course not, you're so useless o.o), but is pretty much ignored and brushed away.

Back at school, Shirley is complaining that their hard work towards their School Festival was wasted since it had to be cancelled. Bu Rivalz counters that they're in a serious war, that things aren't that simple. Milly asks Nina to do something later, but Nina says she has to go to a science museum to receive a gift from Lloyd later. Rivalz whines that he's already doing so much work, since Suzaku, Kallen and Lelouch are all absent. Shirley thinks about the past when she hears Lelouch's name, the day she found a crumbled piece of paper and read it, saying that Lulu is Zero. She asks herself is she wrote that, and why she couldn't remember it.

In the military, they're attaching a Float Attachment to Lancelot. Cecil asks Suzaku why he resigned being a Knight, and he replies that Euphemia thinks too highly of himself, and that when he'd get in trouble, Euphemia would hate herself because of it.

Euphemia is in the Museum. She is in front of a Clovis portrait and is talking to her brother (in her mind...). She tells him that she knew she would be a puppet Vice-Governor from the beginning, and apologises to Clovis for not being able to avenge him, and that she can't find a way to save Lelouch and Nunnally either. She isn't like Cornelia of Schneizel's abilities, and all she does is get in their way.

"I've been pushed aside by everyone"

Nina is outside the museum, but she's not let in, and is told that there is royalty inside.

In the Order of the Black Knight's submarine, he tells everyone that they're not going to work with the Japanese rebels, and that they're just puppets controlled by the Chinese. The members ask why, and what they're objective is. Zero replies that they're to establish an independent country in Tokyo. The Order goes into uproar, comments like that they're too small to do something like that. Zero counters, that if they don't move nothing will come.

"Who are you waiting for to defeat Britannia?"

Nina desperately tries to see Euphemia, but she is stopped by security guards. Euphemia sees what's going on, and remembers her from the Hotel jacking incident. She tells the security to stop.

The weather has cleared up, and the Britannian army can launch their attack. They decide to use Schneizel's plan, which involves Suzaku. Cornelia sneers, not sure of what she should think of him.

The Avalon approaches the Japanese, sending missiles towards it. The Japanese think they've hit it, but Avalon comes out unscathed. Suzaku gets ready to launch Lancelot, using the Float System so it can fly. The Japanese see an incredibly fast flying system on screen, thinking it's a missile, and are shocked when the visuals show the Lancelot using the 'super equipment'.

Lloyd explains to Suzaku, that if Sawasaki is gone, the new Japanese Government will also collapse, and China will lose its excuse to fight. Suzaku easily takes out any attacks and spots the enemy's base. He suddenly gets a transmission from Sawasaki, asking if the incoming unit is the son of Kururugi. Suzaku glares back.

"I see. So he had such a child."

- Sawasaki

Euphemia has welcomed Nina inside her house, and Nina explains that when Euphemia saved her, she saw a beautiful goddess. Euphemia replies that she isn't that fantastic, that she's lousy compared to Cornelia. Nina asks how can she be lousy? Nina says that she, herself is completely useless. Euphemia thinks about her comments, that they have a lot in common because they both hate themselves. Nina says that she and Suzaku, really care about her. Euphemia smiles and thanks her, and says that it's great that they met.

Suzaku talks to Sawasaki via radio, that he's here to end the war and that independence means nothing if obtained by the wrong means. Sawasaki asks Suzaku if it's so easy to do that, telling Suzaku that he's naive.

Euphemia rushes into Scheneizel's room, requesting to use a private line.

Meanwhile, Suzaku's energy filler is down, the Varis (his gun) got destroyed and the Float is damaged. Cecil can't get Avalon there, so she tells him to divert his energy to his communications and weapons.

Sawasaki asks Suzaku to surrender, but Suzaku refuses. Sawasaki laughs, that his stubbornness is the same as his father's.

Euphemia opens the private lines, asking him to love her, and she will love him in return. That he's stubborn, kind and his eyes are filled with hurt, that he's stupid for getting bitten by a cat. But asks him not to hate himself. Suzaku listens to what she says, while he is fighting. He tells her that she's full of surprises, and because of that, he feels open, and thanks her. He in turn asks her a favour as he enters the Japanese base. He asks her not to hate herself, no matter what happens to him, and to remove any proof of existence of himself later on. He tells her to tell his friends that he's transferred, and asks her to send his regards to Cecil, Lloyd and Lord Schneizel. Lancelot's energy filler is down, and Suzaku is about to die. But for a second, his eyes go red, like when he was geassed.

Suddenly, Gawain appears, blasting all the Knightmares about to attack Suzaku. C.C. and Lelouch are in it. C.C. mocks at how stubborn and idiotic the White Armour, Lancelot, but Lelouch praises the tactic of a single unit causing chaos in enemy ranks.

"This plan is definitely Scheneizel's"

Enemy Knightmares approach Lelouch, but he easily blasts them with Gawain's Hadron Cannon. Cecil and Lloyd see it on screen, and Lloyd is distraught that it wasn't him to complete the weapon.

In the submarine, Laksharta explains that it's similar to the Gefjun Disturber. But she lost with the Float System.

"Looks like my opposition really is that Asplund"

The Japanese forces are shocked that Zero is fighting them. Meanwhile, Zero gives Lancelot an energy filler, saying that he will attack the enemy's command centre, and asking what Suzaku will do. Suzaku takes the energy filler, saying that his wish will not be granted. The Lancelot and the Gawain attack, completely taking out enemy units. The Japanese ask Zero, that wasn't he an ally of Japan. He replies "Thos who use violence unnecessarily are our enemies." Sawasaki replies that it's for Japan, but Suzaku asks if it was for Japan, why he ran to China.

Laksharta and Lloyd comment that they're working together, the Gawain and the Lancelot. Euphemia comments, smiling that Suzaku and Lelouch are working together.

Cornelia, fighting on the battlefield, asks what the hell that guy is doing. While at the Order's base, Kallen comments that it would be easier if Guren was there, as she can't return to both her home or her school. But Diethard says, that they don't want victory in this battle, but just the involvement of the Order of the Black Knight's to be remembered.

Meanwhile, Sawasaki, and the Chinese General Chan are escaping, but are stopped by Lancelot and Gawain.

The next day, a broadcast tells that because of Cornelia's brilliance, the terrorism was stopped, and that Sawasaki has been detained, and that China says that it was a separate act by the orders of General Chan. A scene of Scheneizel reporting to the Emperor is shown.

Suzaku meets Euphemia. They laugh heartily, and Euphemia tells Suzaku that the perfect country isn't hard to understand, and all she wants to see are smiles. She asks Suzaku to be her Knight again, and Suzaku replies, "Yes, your highness."

Comments: Lelouch and Suzaku working together was pretty cool. And C.C. looked awesome in the Knightmare. But not enough Kallen in this episode XDD The EuphemiaxSuzaku thing... was lame... simply because I hate that pairing (I'm for SuzakuxNunnally!) but oh well. - emily
