Stage 25, Zero

Cornelia is fallen outside her cockpit. As Lelouch, with his helmet off, walks towards her. A bloodied Cornelia asks if he's doing it for Nunnally. Lelouch replies that he is, that he's destroying and rebuilding the world.

"You're killing because of that pitiful excuse? Clovis... Euphie..."
- Cornelia

Lelouch replies by saying "You too." He uses Geass, and asks her if she killed his mother. She replies no. He then asks if she knows who. She replies no again. Lelouch is shocked, he asks to confirm if she was in charge of the security. He then asks why she lessened Security. She replies that Marianne told her to. Lelouch is shocked; that would mean his mother knew that there would be an attack; why didn't she have them all leave?

He asks again, "Who? Who killed mother? Cornelia cannot answer. He asks who knows the truth. She replies that Schneizel took care of the body under the orders of the Emperor. At the moment, C.C. tells him that Nunnally has been kidnapped, Lelouch replies that he has no time for jokes. At that moment, Jeremiah blasts out of the base with a machine. Insane and disoriented, he pleads him to die, while ruthlessly attacking.

Meanwhile, Lloyd is planning to retrieve Suzaku; he wants that type of "part". Laksharta is experimenting around with Lancelot, with Suzaku still inside.

Jeremiah is still attacking Zero. He calls Ohgi; someone else picks up, and he asks if the girl in the wheelchair is ok. The subordinate cannot answer. He then calls Rivalz, asking if Nunnally is with them. He replies that they're not with her at the moment and she's still in the clubhouse. Lelouch is frustrated that he can't get in contact with Nunnally. C.C. tells him that she's his accomplice and friend, willing him to believe her.

Lelouch tries to lose Jeremiah, and asks his subordinates to attack, but his unusual and new machine overwhelms them. Lelouch blasts a building, making it fall on top of Jeremiah.

Tamaki and some Order members are still experimenting with Lancelot. He is waving a gun at the student council members, but Suzaku stops him.

"All traitors shall die here."
- Tamaki

Tamaki is about to shoot Suzaku, but Arthur stops him. He gets annoyed, and orders to kill them all. Suddenly, the ship Lloyd is in (Avalon?) comes in and attacks the Order, with Cecil in a Knightmare attack. Laksharta is shocked. "That Earl of Pudding actually came to the front lines?"

Cecil destroys all of the immobilisers around Lancelot, and offers an energy filler. Suzaku is surprised that they're helping. Cecil tells him that is was Lloyd's idea.

"I'm here to get it back. The Lancelot and the other thing"
- Lloyd

Cecil wills Suzaku to defeat Zero, while they handle the situation at the school. Suzaku thanks her and takes off, smiling at Arthur. As he rises, he gets a message from Cornelia.

Zero leaves Ohgi in charge of things, but they're in a very bad situation, as they suffer casualties and attacks from the Britannians.

Suzaku is tending to Cornelia, she asks him to hide the knowledge of her injury from Guilford and the others. She tells him to go to Kaminejima, which is where Zero is. She tells him to clear Euphie's name. Cornelia performs a small ceremony, as she accepts him as a Knight of Britannia; now he is a true Knight.

The Order is in confusion; Ohgi is shot and Zero is gone. Ohgi tells Kallen to chase after Zero, as his actions make no sense. He tells her to save him, and Naoto's dream. She sees Lancelot fly in the sky, and understands how to find Zero.

At the school, Nina unveils the Ganymede. Lloyd shouts at both sides to stop firing at once. Laksharta agrees with him; something that has made Lloyd serious. Lloyd asks Nina if she's completed it, and she tells him she hasn't tested it yet, but it should work. Milly runs towards her, asking what she's talking about. Lloyd explains that the thing would blow up all of Tokyo. An unstable Nina holds up a button, and her thumbs shaking above it.

"Where is Zero!?"
- Nina

Nunnally seems to be drugged, and V.V. bored, as he's taken her to the area with the Geass sign at Kaminejima. Lelouch asks her if she knows the place, or any more information on the kidnapper. C.C. honestly replies that she doesn't know anything, and Lelouch replies that he believes her, but still annoyed.

As electric looking zaps pass them, they both fall into Geass. C.C. is in pain, and Lelouch falls into scenes of war, scenes of C.C.'s past. A man shoots her as she seeks refuge, she is burned to the stakes and tortured. Lelouch asks C.C. about it, and she replies that those are her memories. She tells him she didn't know that she wasn't human. The people who loved and hated her have all disappeared in time. She is alone in the endless time. Lelouch tells her that she's not alone; they are partners, if she's a witch, he's a warlock. They share a moment of tenderness, which is abruptly interrupted by Jeremiah. C.C. tells him to leave Jeremiah to herself, and for him to save Nunnally. She tells him to win, and to conquer his past as she reaches up and kisses him. Zero is let down and exits the Gawain, he asks C.C. not to die.

"Who do you think you're talking to?"
- C.C.

Lelouch sneers at this, while C.C. fights Jeremiah. Meanwhile, the Order suffers more casualties. A long lasting member, Kinoue, the woman with long blue hair, is killed. Diethard is worried and unsure, while Kaguya thinks that he discarded Japan.

Zero reaches the place where he assumes Nunnally is, and is about to open the door. A shot is fired, and Suzaku tells him to turn around. Murder is intent in his eyes. Lelouch tries to use his words, saying that Euphemia killed so many Japanese. But Suzaku comments that Geass is a convenient power. Lelouch is shocked at his knowledge. Suzaku throws the insults at him. He calls out Kallen's name, which she is shocked that he knows she's there. He asks if she wants to know Zero's identity. He shoot's Zero's mask and it cracks. Lelouch's face is revealed to them both. Blood trickles down Lelouch's face, and Kallen, shocked, falls to the ground. Suzaku puts his gun down, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Yes, I am Zero."
- Lelouch

He says, admitting all his deeds and positions; and that he's about to take over the entire world. Kallen is on the verge of tears, she asks if she used the Japanese. He tells her that the Japanese will be liberated; she should have no complaints. Her tears fall. Suzaku tells him that he lied to him, to Euphie, even to Nunnally. Lelouch tells him that Nunnally has been kidnapped, and asks if they can fight later. He tells them that together, they can achieve anything.

Suzaku holds up a gun, telling him that he should have worked with Euphie. Lelouch tells him that it's in the past; they can regret it some other time. Suzaku, angered and a little disoriented, holds up the gun, telling him that his wish mustn't ever come true.

"The world can't spin on your glorious morals alone!"
- Lelouch

Lelouch wills him to shoot, but as soon as his heart stops beating, the Sakuradite attached to his heart will explode. He asks Suzaku who told him about Geass, because that person is with Nunnally. Suzaku just shouts at him, that the future will have nothing to do with him, the fact that he exists is an error, that he's not fit to be in the world.

Lelouch is shaken by these words, and takes out his own gun. They shout each other's names and Nunnally hears a gunshot.

Jeremiah's machine floats to the bottom of the ocean. C.C. wears a look of regret. She explains that people long for happiness, and Lelouch's actions were all for that tiny wish. She says that nobody can take that small wish from someone. She says that what's blocking Lelouch is the past he created. She smiles, as she says that people exist to pursue happiness. The wishes blocking that pursuit are born from despair.

Rating: 5/5

Comments: Brilliant ending. But they made us wait so long for these episodes. And now they're making us wait more. The thing with Jeremiah I must say, was a little random and weird. And I'm disappointed that Villetta reverted completely to her old ways. Darlton died! That was such a terrible death for him. Cornelia knighting Suzaku was a really nice touch I think. We are introduced to older brother Britannia! He seems to be a coward though... - emily
