Turn 01, The Day the Fiend Awakens ~ April 6 2008

"Long live Japan!"
Lelouch is at Ashford Academy, simply wandering the building. He runs into Villetta, now a PE teacher, who
chases and scolds him for skipping P.E. classes. Ms. Villetta sees Lelouch running, and she literally jumps
at him, only to find it is in fact Rivalz with a black wig, acting as distraction for Lelouch to escape in
his motorcycle. Shirley and Milly also make an appearance in this scene; everyone seems carefree and at
peace.
In the passenger seat of the motorcycle, Lelouch is with a younger boy who is driving the bike, who calls
Lelouch "big brother". Lelouch recalls the last year, about Zero and the Black Rebellion, that Area 11 was
in chaos, and he and his brother were thinking of returning to the mainland Britannia. The younger brother,
Rollo, asks Lelouch is he wants to go to college. Lelouch thinks about it, but replies he's quite tired of
being a student. And even if he enters the workforce, nobles and enterprises will be above him, controlling
the world in a hierachal state.
On a television, a news broadcast is shown where capital punishment is being brought on a number of
Elevens.
"This isn't discrimination against Elevens! It's a distinction!"
- Governor Calares
The man on television explains that the Elevens were manipulated by Zero, trying to regain their name as
Japanese. But they are barbaric and dangerous; Britannia must control and educate them.
Lelouch contemplates how the Elevens lost, their power was not enough. A scene shows the faces of Ohgi,
Toudou, Tamaki and Chiba, all arrested, and pictures of Diethard and Laksharta are shown as Wanted. And
then a picture of Zero, with a cross on his face, underneath saying "Executed".
"Zero, what a foolish man."
- Lelouch
Meanwhile, the man shown on television ordering the execution of the Elevens, is shown to be the new
Governor of Area 11, Governor Calares. One of his assistants ask him to prepare for the Chinese
Federation's delegates. They also discuss plans of the Intelligence Agency which are under "His Majesty"
who are seeking out Black Knight's remnants at a place named "Babel Tower".
Coincidentally, Lelouch and Rollo are heading to the tower. Unknown to them, they are being watched by
Intelligence forces.
Rollo parks the motorcycle, and asks why Lelouch is here; matches it's illegal, and it's not like Lelouch
needs money. Lelouch simply replies that he wants to play against stronger opponents. But of course, the
truth it, that Lelouch just wants to kill time at this Casino; his life is empty and boring, as if it's
missing something.
Rollo and Lelouch enter, Rollo looking nervous as he enters. They watch the day's main event, a "Sibling
Duel". Two Britannian brothers are beating each other to death for entertainment and gambling. Rollo asks
to go home, feeling unnerved by the scene. Lelouch replies that it's simple; Britannians are laughing and
playing, while Elevens are laughed at and working. Rollo knows it's wrong, and so does Lelouch, but it is
the truth of the world; the Japanese lost twice and are powerless.
As Lelouch walks into another room, he stumbles into one of the bunny girls of the casino, who spills a
berverage on him. This bunny girl is seen to be Kallen, and it seems she has forgotten everything, even her
strong Japanese pride has disappeared. Lelouch also shows no familiarity to her; they don't remember each
other at all. She kneels at him, wiping the drink of of Lelouch's shoes and around where he stands; she is
an Eleven, while he is a Britannian student. He tells her he doesn't like the brandishing of his status.
"But, people with no power must bear it with patience, even if it's towards the wrong
people."
- Kallen
Kallen again apologises, offering Lelouch a hankerchief, with a small tracker device hidden inside.
However, before she gives it to him, a man grabs her by the forehead. He likes her face, commenting that
she's nice merchandise. He adds her to his collection of bunny girls he's buying. Kallen exclaims that she
isn't merchandise, but the man retaliates that she is; she has no rights since her people lost. He tells
her even the emperor said it, "survival of the fittest" is the rule of the world.
Lelouch is annoyed by this. He challenges the man to a game of chess, to prove who is on the "fit" side.
Rollo warns him not to, scared and worried for his brother. Lelouch knows he is the man is the "Black
King," a man who excels at chess. But Lelouch is confident he'll win anyway.
At a prison, Tamaki is being pushed around and abused by Britannian guards. He is injured and angry,
exclaiming that if Zero were here none of it would happen. Nagisa Chiba, the female on Nippon Kaihō Sensen,
tells him not to mention the name of the traitor. Ohgi tells them that there must be a reason for Zero's
deisappearance, but Chiba retaliates; what reason could a commander have to leave at the final battle?
Tohdoh tells them to be quiet- either way Zero is dead.
At the tower, Lelouch easily beats the Black King, a huge crowd who has gathered and are shocked at the
result. The Black King accuses Lelouch of a cheap shot, of cheating somehow. Of course, how is that
possible in chess? The Black King orders Lelouch's arrest, he pulls out a gun and points it at Lelouch.
Before anything can happen however, the building starts shaking- an attack by terrorists. The plane C.C.
was flying before lands on the building. At this moment, Kallen punches, kicks and knocks out the Black
King and his body guards. One Gekka and three Burai Knightmares launch from the plane. Kallen grabs
Lelouch's hand, taking him away. Lelouch is dragged away with Rollo trying to catch up.
The Britannian Secret Intelligence forces decide to retaliate, commecing their "Operation Valhalla 7".
Lelouch is separated from Kallen, and watches the terrorist attack, sacred and confused.
"What is happening?!"
- Lelouch
Meanwhile Chinese delegates have arrived at a meeting with Governor Calares, who is welcoming them. One is
a handsome young man with a sword and long black hair, the other is a man with a painted white face in
yellow clothing (although it's not mentioned in this episode, this man is named Gaohai). Calare tells Gao
Hai that it's a bit early for the members of the Chinese Federation to understand Britannia. Gaohai asks if
he's talking about already enforcing capital punishment on Zero. Before any continuation on their
conversation, two Britannian guards come over and ask the young man to hand over his sword; that it is
simply a security measure. In a fraction of a second, the man withdraws his sword, slices at the two men
and sheathes his sword again. The guard's waist belts fall, a long with their guns. The other man, who
calls the younger "Xing-Ke" that what he did was rude. He apologises, but says, that it's a bit early for
Britannia to understand the Chinese Federation.
Meanwhile the battle at Tower Babel continues. Kallen loses Lelouch, and Rollo drags him away from her.
The Intelligence force enters the battle with helicoptors and Knightmares. One of the men tell their
commander that Governor Calares objects to the operation, but the commander says to ignore the local
government, that they received orders direct from His Majesty.
Rollo and Lelouch are running from the chaos. But Lelouch is confronted with a Burai Knightmare, which
extends it's arm in invitation. At that moment, the Britannian's Sutherlands enter the scene. Rollo is
relieved, thinking that they will be saved. But he finds himself being shot at, and around him he sees
people dying, the killers being the Britannian army. Rollo and Lelouch escape, while the Burai enters
combat with the Sutherland.
Kallen runs towards some Burai Knightmares who have transported a massive box. Kallen pulls out her Guren
Key, and the box opens revealling the Guren Nishiki. She jumps in and starts it up; obviously she was
putting on a pretense, she very much remembers at least, the Knightmare piloting part of her life as a
terrorist.
Lelouch takes Rollo to what he believes is a safe haven. Lelouch tells Rollo not to worry, that they will
escape, which calms Rollo. But at that moment, they are shot at, and an explosion takes place, the shock
forces Lelouch over a ledge, separating him from his brother.
Back at school, Shirley is criticising Lelouch for getting Rollo involved, Rivalz and Milly tease her that
she's really just worried about Lelouch.
Although Lelouch had fallen far, he finds himself cushioned by a material some several floors down. Lelouch
in a panic, runs up the stairs in search of his brother.
"I should have the power to save my only brother!"
-
Lelouch
He reaches a floor, and sees a sea of bloodied bodies. Lelouch thinks that it was all the work of the
terrorists, but is confused when he sees Britannians and Elevens alike among the bodies. He bends down,
feeling sick to the stomach. He sees a girl holding a picture of Zero.
"They're still clinging to Zero..."
- Lelouch
Looking up, Lelouch finds himself in front of a Burai Knightmare. From the Knightmare however, C.C.'s voice
calls him.
"We've come for you, Lelouch."
- C.C.
She tells him that she is her ally, his enemy is Britannia. She tells him that they made a pact, they are
accomplices, that she knows who he really is. Lelouch walks over curious and entranced. C.C. reaches out
her hand, but is shot and falls to the ground. A unit of the Secret Intelligence stand before Lelouch and
C.C. with guns aimed towards them. Two of the members set the bodies alight. Some screams arise from the
flames.
"Stop it! They're still alive!"
- Lelouch
The commander of the unit thanks Lelouch for his role. He explains that they have been watching Lelouch,
they know precisly his every move. They explain that Lelouch was the bait for C.C. Lelouch is confused and
has no idea what he's talking about. The commander is about to order the execution of all the witnesses,
and Lelouch finds himself facing a dozen guns pointed towards him.
Mirroring the first episode, Lelouch is furious, Asking himself why he has no power, power to stand against
the world. At that moment, C.C. leans over and kisses him. Her voice tells him that he already has power,
but it is just shut inside the cage of oblivion. She tells him to recall who he is.
"Let the seal now break open!"
- C.C.
Lelouch remembers everything, that his irritation in his day to day life was the fabricated memories, his
fake life. He remembers who he is.
"I am... Zero!"
- Lelouch
He remembers his face off with Suzaku and Nunnally's disappearance.
Lelouch stands and asks a final question before his execution. He asks, that if powerlessness is a sin, is
power justice? He asks if revenge is a sin, if friendship is enough for justice? The commander tells him
that there is no sin, no justice. But for him, the only truth is death.
Lelouch activates his Geass, and with all eyes on him,
"Lelouch Vi Britannia commands you... all of you... die!"
-
Lelouch
Every single person in the unit of thhe Secret Intelligence, turn the gun on themselves. Lelouch watches
calmly as they shoot themselves.
Lelouch fixes his resolve. He was no the one who was wrong, but the world was.
The Guren Nishiki, a long with the Gekka crash through the ceiling in front of Lelouch and C.C.
"We've been waiting for you, Zero."
Lelouch heartily agrees, for he is Zero,
"The man who destroys worlds, the man who creates them!"
-
Lelouch
The Emperor of Britannia is talking to a few members of the Round Table. Zino, Suzaku and Aniya are there.
Suzaku is bowing to the meperor, pledging,
"I will be the one who kills Zero."
- Suzaku
